Who am I?
My name is Rollo Burkinshaw, I am a filmmaker from Kent studying Filmmaking at Manchester School of Art in Manchester Metropolitan university. I have a passion for filmmaking, specifically post production sound design and audio mixing. I strive to be as creative as possible, experimenting with new skills and software and working with as many people as possible in order to experience different work styles and creative processes, broadening my skill sets.
I am frequently looking for new opportunities and experiences, I am a firm believer in developing my skills through building relationships, talking to new people, and by being as creative as possible at any given opportunity.
My Passions
I have always been passionate about staying dedicated to my goals and staying true to my beliefs. My hard working mindset is rooted in my passion for boxing, which I started at a young age. Boxing has taught me to stay committed and to never give up. This mindset translates directly to my creative practices. Discovering filmmaking has allowed me to creatively express myself, I experimented with cinematography but didn't seem to click with it. One day, a boom operator was needed on a friends film set, I offered to help out. Ever since then my love for sound has blossomed. After that I offered to help out with the post production side of the film, the creative freedom post production sound offered felt freeing and was something that I was immediately hooked by. Leading me to pursue it within my course, allowing it to become my passion in filmmaking.
